Noor Alam Khan Biography 

On December 10, 1972, Noor Alam Khan was born in Peshawar, NWFP. In 2002, he graduated from the University of the Punjab with a BA. His political affiliation with the PPPP dates back to his time as a young student. He served as the President of the Farmers Association of District Peshawar before becoming an MNA His line of work is the landlord. Agriculture is his main source of income.  He has been to Kenya, Dubai, UK, US, and Germany. His interests include horseback riding and hunting. His legislative interests are in the following areas: foreign affairs, health, defence, and communication.

Noor Alam Khan is a member of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Production, States and Frontier Regions (SAFFRON), and Parliamentary Affairs. On February 18, 2008, the people chose Mr. Noor Alam Khan as their representative for the Peshawar III Constituency in the Thirteenth National Assembly. Politically, he was affiliated with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPPP).

Early Life and Education:

  • Noor Alam Khan was born on October 12th, 1972.
  • Noor Alam Khan is a social worker as well as a philanthropist. He was recognized as the National Assembly’s wealthiest member in 2012.

Career: 

In the 2008 general election in Pakistan, Mr. Noor Alam Khan, as a PPP candidate, campaigned and won the election to the National Assembly of Pakistan from Constituency NA-3 Peshawar. He defeated Muhammad Hasham Babar of the Awami National Party (ANP) with 27,038 votes. At the time, he served as the federal parliament’s secretary of trade. He was the richest member of Pakistan’s National Assembly in 2012 according to his alleged assets of more than PKR 32 billion. He owned a house, two vehicles, a car and a truck, and 200 acres of good land in Peshawar, which was worth PKR 160 million per acre. The gold jewelry he had was also valued at PKR 11.6 million.

He ran for office as a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate in the 2013 general election in Pakistan from NA-3 Peshawar, however, he came in fourth place with 22,045 votes.

As a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate in the 2018 general election in Pakistan, he was re-elected to the National Assembly from Constituency NA-27 (Peshawar-I). With 71,158 votes, he defeated Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) contender Haji Ghulam Ali. He was one of several PTI legislators in opposition who said they would vote against Imran Khan, the head of their party, in the no-confidence motion. However, they were not allowed to vote since the opposition coalition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was able to secure enough votes on its own to oust the Prime Minister. Since the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the opposition alliance was able to secure enough support on its own on April 10, 2022, they were exempt from voting.

Noor Alam Khan Assets:

In 2012, he was the richest member of the Pakistani National Assembly with declared assets of more than PKR 32 billion. His possessions included a house, two cars, two trucks, and 200 acres of prime land in Peshawar, worth at PKR 160 million per acre. Additionally, he owned gold jewelry valued at 11.6 million Pakistani rupees.

Former NAB Director Javed Iqbal is accused of harassing a lady by Noor Alam Khan:

According to Amina Masood Janjua, a human rights activist, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Noor Alam Khan has charged former National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Javed Iqbal with harassing a lady.

During the PAC meeting, the PTI MP mentioned Janjua. They alleged that Iqbal had harassed a woman in one of the panel meetings on missing persons. According to Janjua, Javed Iqbal allegedly said to a lady who appeared before him during the session that she “does not need to get married because she was very beautiful.” The committee’s grave response, which demanded severe punishment against the former NAB chief, prompted the PAC to summon Iqbal. 

Supporters criticize MNA Noor, Alam Khan:

Noor Alam Khan, a PTI MNA, has come under fire ever since he said he would vote against PM Khan in the no-confidence vote. Both PTI supporters and leaders have reacted angrily and negatively to his decision. A video of PTI activists arguing with the enraged MNA is currently trending on social media in this regard. They question him about his actions and accuse him of cheating the country.

“You are stealing from and destroying the country. Shame on you, one man said. They pleaded with him to take off his mask and stop hiding his face. PTI MNA Noor Alam demanded that he say nothing and gave the men the interim order to stop talking nonsense.

Noor Alam accuses PTI workers of attacking his house:

Imran Khan’s soldiers attacked my home. They were led by others, including Deputy Speaker KP Mehmood Jan. Hooliganism has been observed by KP Police. Over party lines, my brotherhood, the locals, and my supporters flocked to my defense. They were forced to flee. I have Allah’s help. Noor Alam tweeted, “Pakistan Zindabad”.

“I informed IG Police KP and CCPO Peshawar that the police were defending the perpetrators of my home’s attack. According to the MNA, CCPO, and IG have both turned off their mobile phones and are not reachable by landline.

Threats against Noor Alam’s life:

“Threats telling me that what we did with Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and Bashir Bilour Shaheed will do with you and your three sons.” Alam Khan wrote in a post that included a screenshot of the texts.

The threats occurred as a group of enraged PTI workers rushed Sindh House, slamming the gates and forcing their way inside before police arrived.

The authorities detained two PTI MNAs, Faheem Khan, and Attaullah Niazi, along with other mob members for planning the attack on the Sindh House.

Achievements:

He beat Muhammad Hasham Babar of the Awami National Party (ANP) with 27,038 votes. He was the federal parliament’s commerce secretary during that time. His stated assets were more than PKR 32 billion in 2012. These assists earned him the title of Pakistan’s National Assembly’s richest member.
