Khurram Dastgir Khan, a politician from Pakistan who was born on August 3, 1970, has served in the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018. He had previously served in Pakistan’s National Assembly from 2008 to 2013 and, once again, from 2013 to 2018. He currently serves as the Federal Minister of Energy.
In the Abbasi government, he held the positions of Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs from August 2017 and May 2018, respectively, until May 2018. Between 2013 and 2014, he held the positions of Minister of State for Science and Technology, Minister of State for Privatisation, and Minister of State for Commerce. From 2014 to 2017, he was the Commerce Minister. Khan attended the California Institute of Technology to study engineering. At the California Institute of Technology, Khan studied engineering; at Bowdoin College, he studied economics.
In addition to his political career, he also handled the District Red Crescent, Gujranwala Club, and Jinnah Memorial Library. He also worked in the family business and was a vice president of the Punjab Squash Association from 1998 to 2002.

Early Life and Education:
He was born on August 3rd, 1970, and raised in Gujranwala. For his schooling, he also resided abroad. He currently makes his home with his family in Gujranwala.
St. Joseph’s High School in Gujranwala is where he completed his education. He attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, for his undergraduate education, where he earned a degree in economics. He not only holds a bachelor’s degree in economics but also a degree in electrical engineering.
Family:
His father, Ghulam Dastgir Khan, is a comparable politician in Pakistan who served in the National Assembly from 1990 to 1999. Like his son, he has connections to the Pakistan Muslim League N.
Khurram Dastgir Career:
When he was made a special subordinate by the then-prime minister Nawaz Sharif in 1999, he got his start in politics. Khurram Dastgir remained here until Nawaz Sharif’s term was through. Khurram Dastgir Khan carries on his father Ghulam Dastgir Khan’s legacy. In addition to serving twice in the federal cabinet as the Minister for Labour, Manpower, and Overseas Pakistanis and later as the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Dastgir Senior was elected to the National Assembly in 1977, 1990, 1993, and 1997.
When the army took control in October 1999, Khurram Dastgir Khan was working as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Special Assistant. He became one of the earliest advocates for democracy while under military house arrest when, just two days after Musharraf established martial law, he denounced the coup on BBC World Service Radio. The PML-N appointed him as Central Point Secretary and an ex officio member after he ran unsuccessfully in the 2002 general election.
In the general election of 2002, he ran for the PML-N but was unsuccessful. Then, in April 2006, they named him as the Central Point Secretary and ex officio member of the PML-N Central Working Committee. He is a member of the PML-N’s Policy Planning Committee, which created the Party’s 2007 platform.
Khurram Dastgir’s visit to the Netherlands:
To attend a conference on “The EU and Global Value Chains (Implementing Sustainable Business through aid and trade),” the Federal Minister for Commerce, Engr. He added that cooperation and constructive dialogue on GSP Plus between Pakistan and the EU is evidence that incentives are more effective than sanctions.
