Early Life & Education:
Kashmala Tariq was born in Lahore, Pakistan, on January 24, 1972.
She has always taken the lead from the front. Kashmala, a self-assured Kinnaird student, eventually attended Punjab University for her LLB and was awarded a distinction scholarship there in 1992. She earned her LLM in 1999 at the London School of Economics (LSE), UK, after completing her LLB. Between 1998 and 1999, she served as President of the LSE Students’ Union. Her leadership skills grew as a result of her involvement as a student member at LSE, becoming more exceptional and fine. In 1993, Kashmala established herself as a partner with the Pakistani law office Mandviwalla & Zafar Advocates in Lahore. On November 21st, 1996, Kashmala began her legal career with Mandviwalla & Zafar, a firm led by Senator S.M. Zafar and Syed Ali Zafar, respectively. She was hired as an assistant attorney at the Bower Cotton in London, England, in January 1998, where she worked until January 1999.
At Khan & Pirzada Law Associates, a corporate and commercial law practice in Lahore, Kashmala registered as a partner there in January 2003. She practiced there till January 2007. She assumed the role of chairwoman of Kashmala Law Associates in Lahore in January 2008 and held it until 2017. Kashmala Tariq entered politics when she was elected to the Pakistani National Assembly on a reserved seat. She served as a member of the Pakistani National Assembly for ten years beginning in 2002. Expulsion from the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q) party:
In the approximate elections controlled in Pakistan in February 2008, Kashmala was preferred to be a part of a representative of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q) party on a seat nominated for women in the National Assembly of Pakistan. As a result of her partnership in a few projects that proceeded against the party’s development and unification, she was discharged from the party and had her participation canceled in July 2008. Accused of performing sexual favors for political gains:
On September 15, 2009, the Express-News channel team welcomed politicians Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Dr. Shireen Mizari, and Kashmala Tariq to participate in a productive discussion about democracy in honor of the International Day of Democracy. The conversation quickly descended into an argument, however, after Kashmala referred to Firdous as “Lota” (a term used to refer to someone who frequently switches parties). This made Firdous uncomfortable and enraged, and she responded by accusing Kashmala of using sexual favors for political gain.

When she got into a fight with a reporter from the Dawn News channel, Azaz Syed, in December 2011, Kashmala stirred much controversy. Azaz questioned Kashmala during the interview on the letter of explanation that Salim Saifullah, a Pakistan Muslim League (Q) party member, had sent her regarding the alleged use of Rs 850000 from the party finances. Kashmala Tariq Son’s Accident:
On February 2, 2023, a fatal car accident occurred on Srinagar Highway in Islamabad, Pakistan. The accident involved a vehicle carrying the family of Kashmala Tariq, the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women. Four people were killed in the accident, and two others were injured.
The vehicle carrying the Tariq family was a Lexus SUV. The other vehicle involved in the accident was a Mehran car. The Mehran car was carrying five men who were traveling to Islamabad to write an exam for the Anti-Narcotics Force.
