Mr. Asad Mahmood was born in the town of Abdul Khel in Pakistan. He is the son of Molana Fazal ur Rehman, a respected figure in Pakistani politics and the current leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI). Furthermore, Mr. Mahmood’s grandfather, Mufti Mahmood, was a notable figure who also led the JUI. Thus, he hails from a family with a strong tradition of religious and political involvement.

Imran is criticized by Asad Mehmood for adopting “dual standards.”:

According to Maulana Asad Mehmood, Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had enlisted the cooperation of foreign agencies to close the gap with the United States (US). In an effort to win over Washington, PTI hired Praia Consultants LLC on February 21 of this year for a six-month contract.

In his speech to the joint session of parliament, he claimed that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had attempted to create a narrative that was critical of the US establishment by waving an alleged cipher. According to the minister, the former prime minister attempted to do this to create the impression that his administration was being overthrown in an illegitimate manner.

As Zalmay Khalilzad, Christina Lamb, and Brad Sherman tweeted in support of Imran Khan, claiming the former prime minister had been working on “foreign agenda for a long time in the country,” Maulana Asad claimed that the false anti-US narrative had been exposed.
