Chaudhry Salik Hussain, As a Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q) candidate in the by-elections held on October 14, 2018, chose to serve in the National Assembly of Pakistan from Constituency NA-65 (Chakwal-II).
On April 22, 2022, Shehbaz Sharif elevated him to the position of Federal Minister without a portfolio. He received his portfolio on May 12 and was given responsibility for Chinese and other foreign direct investments, as well as special measures. He was also named the Federal Minister of the Board of Investment.
It appointed Chaudhry Salik Hussain SVP of the PML-Q: PML-Q. His nomination was confirmed by President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain after consulting with the party’s Central Working Committee, and a notification was then issued by PML-Q Secretary General Tariq Bashir Cheema.
It should be remembered that Salik Hussain recently spoke with Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), in London about issues relating to Punjab’s political climate.

Early Life and Family:
He was born in Pakistan, in Punjab. Graduated from the University of Punjab’s Forman Christian College in 1967, and earned a degree in industrial management there.
The eldest son of Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, has ties to the families of former military dictators such as Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, and General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq. His younger cousin Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who is currently a top official in the current administration, previously held the position of Punjab’s chief minister. Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, his younger brother, is a top official in the current administration.
Career:
He began his political career in Chakwal in 2018 by winning the by-election for the NA seat left open by his uncle Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, a former chief minister of Punjab.
Salik Hussain participated in numerous political and social events in Gujarat for the first time since entering politics, and at the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry GtCCI, he engaged in an interactive discussion with the business community.
In response to inquiries from the media, he stated that he would run for his father’s NA seat and that the party may seek a seat adjustment with the Pakistan Democratic Movement.
The status had been temporarily suspended because the caretaker administration was unable to operate the newly constituted division due to a lack of necessary manpower because the Election Commission had prohibited recruitment in Punjab before the elections.
He claimed that following the elections, the Punjab administration had assured him that the new notification would be quickly rescinded.
When Chaudhry Salik Hussain earlier addressed businesspeople, he said that due to Pakistan’s high inflation, he had recommended Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to call an all-party conference on the economy.
In recent months, there have been “wrongdoings” in Gujarat, and he promised to handle them.
