Indian singer Akhil Sachdeva is basking in the success of his soulful track Tu Chaand Hai, which features Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane in the music video. Released on April 4, the video has already amassed over 7 million views on YouTube, and the chemistry between the two stars is undeniable.
In a recent interview with Filmfare, Sachdeva praised Hocane’s performance, calling the experience of working with her “amazing.”
“I met Mawra through Farhan [Saeed], who’s a good friend of mine and also her brother-in-law,” Sachdeva shared. “There was already a comfort level and friendship. It all happened in a friendly and smooth manner — and that’s what shows on screen.”
The video was filmed during Ramazan, with Hocane observing her fast while Sachdeva balanced shoots and music shows across different cities. Despite the challenges, Sachdeva said there was a natural “chemistry and bonding” on set.
“We didn’t talk much off-camera because she had kept her Roza, but the vibe and energy of the song kept us connected,” he said.
The singer also emphasized the power of music in transcending political boundaries. “Collaborations between India and Pakistan have started happening now. You can’t stop music — it transcends everyone,” Sachdeva said. He noted the song’s growing success in both countries, especially as it continues climbing the charts on Pakistan’s Spotify Top 10.
Mawra Hocane, in a separate statement, echoed similar sentiments. “Tu Chaand Hai is pure magic, and working with the team has been an incredible experience,” she said. “Music videos have always fascinated me, and I couldn’t have asked for a better song.
